Sustenance

How do you feel when you do your work? Yes commuting to the office in the morning and coming often late in the evening. Even if you are coming early back your home, is it that you are bothered about the work or that your phone is ringing and then one irritatingly argue that with the salary I am getting these phone calls are not paid for. Now that I am not generalizing it that almost all of us are in a similar situation but some of us must be. On one hand, there are personalities like MK Gandhi, Einstein, and Marx who worked tirelessly and generated something for the society; on the other side here we are doing something we don’t want to do. Even the less known workers like artisans who painted & built architectural monuments or are activists who worked day and night without feeling any regret as if they are wasting their time as if they belong to some other place as if they don’t fit here and are better off. What is all wrong with us and our well-paid job? These are hard questions and cannot be solved easily. If someone likes to see the world and travel, then there are ways to do that e.g. by becoming the tour guide and work on sustenance earning only as much as to sustain all the expenses. One can also see it the way that we are working so that in a year at least twice we can plan for the trips we always wanted to have. Then I wonder all the bitter time of the day one scratch our head and remain irritated? If there is no fulfillment in the job, if their always someone or other who are manipulating you for the work they want to get done from us, there is always conflicts even though we are working for the same organization, one is always complaining for the other persons, someone is always competing with us, we are rivals than brothers, what is it worth having for?

There is some alienation in the corporates or similar situation where one’s labor is taken and some wage is given. Although things have changed since the industrial time began, that there is a better working facility within the organization, there are more resources, some grievance sharing cells where one can cry and get some tiny pats. Still, the bitterness of wasting the time remains, still the self-quarrel remains.

Social media has a crucial role in acting as a stress dissipater in such situations. You know, one can always get attention there with some edited images or some weekend vacation posts or just commenting your half-sure views in the recent government policy. In a way, it is helping us to sustain. But for how long this sustenance will go on? Besides this system often projects the happy sides of a person's life. It does not tell us anything about the bitter side and one end up believing that only we are the victim of this new age. Stress and other non-communicable diseases on the rise is the fact that something is more worrisome than terrorism in society and needs a fast address, more productive discussions, with oneself.
