Thief who is, Police who is?

I now firmly believe that only Indians are responsible for their poor state of unorganized life. This is not just about a particular sector or only some kind of people, this is our attitude obviously motivated by the existing and the pre-existing system and we are sincerely lost. Who is the sufferer? The poor! Who is responsible? We, I & you! Please don’t blame politicians for the sole reason that “we, I & You” don’t have the guts to take the corrective steps. Till now I have only watched in movies & other fictions, listened to news & from people’s mouth that our government is corrupt. “How can they say this?” used to be my first reaction & I never believed in such stuff until yesterday night. Corruption has reached every stratum of people domain & every one of us is involved in it except the younger generation who are isolated from the system. “No way, how all of us are involved in this? Hey, are you stupid? Why are you blaming all of us?” It was a ...

A question

Torture in every form is cruelty. Why do we have to reciprocate back in violence? Revenge is a labyrinth which only leads to more hatred and chaos. The action of a person speaks of himself even if it is performed in the expected reciprocation. When it comes to the bottom where you are standing, no one prefers to stay ideal and at that moment everyone forgets to stay calm but the concept of human is communicated as an excuse, “after all we are not God!” Somehow, somewhere the images of God in Hinduism are used to inspire us to be an ideal human being and by doing that, it is proclaimed that we move closer the one we follow. And it is logical as well. But the amount of your strength depends on your confidence and faith in him. That is how you will not only copy his actions but also his thoughts on which your future undocumented actions are based. For Atheist, it could be their mentors. For everyone there is someone whom we get motivated from, we call them mentors and the concept of thi...

Biggest Threat to Humanity – Moral Crisis or Climate Change?

To decide upon something like Moral crisis which is a subjective issue that prevails among the public and also it is indicative of the net consciousness of the society or the country as a whole. Germans, for example, behaved barbarically after they were led by the Hitler against the jews. The genocide that took place during the WW2 era in Germany could have been avoided if Germans would not have followed the Hitler blindly. They did anyway and hence the crisis was made possible. The ongoing casualties suffered by the humanity in the middle east is more than just the result of the moral crisis. Terrorism is relative here & it is imperative for all of us to know about its history. We all know about the Afghan revolution, Shia Sunni base conflict & the hatred which has evolved is man made & more of externally influenced. Then the common public can touch the nerve at any point of time & term it as terrorism. We all have equal access to the religious t...

India’s Infrastructure

India’s Infrastructure Story – Why is India not able to Build like China? When it comes to finding out the reason WHY is India not able to build like China, our neighboring country, which has grasped the pace to become the world power, there could be many reasons. Nonetheless and to some extent as a form of excuse, we refer to the 7 decades old British India and their over-exploited policies which had eaten India although we also have our own problems. Our literacy rate was 12% while just after Independence. India is now a federal union and the once divided 552 princely states have been united and further divided into 29 States & 7 Union territories. To have calmed the chaoses took India long time, and presently many big reforms e.g. GST, demonetization etc have been saught, so we are growing. To state other crucial reasons can be the non-adherence to the various schemes and policies that are launched by the government in the meantime, high-level corruption within th...

National Anthem in Cinema Hall

I was used to National Anthem “Jana Gana Mana” while praying in schools. It used to be sung at the last when we had taken oaths and had sung other prayers. And at the last, we used to yell in harmony “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”. I still feel a sudden nerve of patriotism when I remember those moments. From school teachers, I understood the discipline of standing straight for the approx. 52 second when it was played and not to talk. It is to pay our respect to the anthem. It devotes to the nation & for me, it emits the feeling of gratefulness to the nation for has accommodated me, took care of my rights, securing me and being the higher guardian. Also, whenever in TV if suddenly National Anthem is played, I either mute it down or had changed the channel considering that I am not prepared, as I was either having dinner or other similar reasons to make me not to stand & concentrate on the sacred song. It happens even today. I don’t listen to the anthem every now and then but only at the...

Long way to go: India

India soon is on the line of becoming the most populated nation of the world which is definitely not a privilege either to the nation or to the billions of us who reside in it. We have a written constitution which is lengthiest in its form. While drafting the various constitutions, deciding upon the fundamental Rights and the directive principles, our leaders did discuss and debated upon for a long period of almost 2 years. By Dec 1949, our constitution was ready to be launched among the newly independent nation and to its large population. India is one of the nations with the highest number of youth at present ideas of them are giving shape to our nation and is guiding our way to future. Obligations we have with respect to the tense situation between our previous generation and now. We all abide by our laws in our day to day lifestyle, obviously as per our convenience. Indian boundaries consist of varieties of flora and fauna, hundreds of identified language, several festivals upo...

Sihangad base

Image
Well, let me ride you along to our today’s cycle trip to Sihangad trekking base. It was a ride, for me it started at 4:30 AM today when I woke up & rushed to prepare as I have to catch up the group at 5:30AM from Sangam Bridge, Pune. From my home at Salunke Vihar, it is a 10 KM ride to Sangam Bridge. It is easy to ride during the early morning hours when it is dark, cold, traffic less streets & a down train path. I reached there in less than 20 minutes from my home with an average speed of 30km/hr. The route passing through Shivaji Nagar, I have ridden earlier & I like it. It passes through the center of city, through Pune Camp, MG road, Shivaji Nagar, Deccan, Karve Nagar, Khadakwasla, Dam, base & back. I had the jersey, shoes, front & back lights ON, & yes the speedometer with me. I forgot gloves. I have not bought the essential helmet yet. Reaching Sangam Bridge, Abhijit Sir helped me with his spare helmet. So I rode along with helmet ON & let me tell ...

How helmet saved me

How a helmet saved me First of all I must tell that till 24th April 17, around 7 O’clock in evening I had have hardly given any respect to the helmet we wear while driving vehicle. I was damn too careless. I also cycle in weekends with the whole costume and accessories on, but not the good helmet. Surely wearing helmet has other discomforts but it is meant for a different and an important purpose, of your safety. It takes few moments to change your entire perspective. It’s when you learn and it gets embedded in your vibe that it needs no revision anymore. I wonder how come I have passed this much of my life with this illusion. I worry when I think how many more lies must be there? Yesterday, I asked Manoj for his bike to go to Atharva & I had told him that I will be getting back by 6 anyhow. Atharva is 10kms ride from my office. It is our franchisee. However I got late kicking back the CBZ. So at around 7, I started in hurry with the helmet on. To my surprise as I ...

Cycle ride to Lohegaon

“Namaskar” is one thing people use frequently in Pune. It is also frequently used in Nagpur, one of the three cities where I lived after graduation.  Namaskar is something when greeted, it means the person who is speaking meant “The infinity within me respects the infinity within you”. It means while speaking Namaskar; we find divinity in the second person and within us as well. Namaskar to you!  Today we rode towards Lohegaon one of the other ends of the city. It is already March with sun at its nearest to earth. So we decided to wake up early and ride in the cooler & darker roads, purpleness in the stars filled sky and the silent paths. That’s when you meet with the reminiscent soul of the age old yet strong city in silence with divinity. I didn't realize it would be that cold.    I had my cycle washed off till it shone nicely and then oiling; that helped me paddling. Well Badri, this time, I will take the credit of waking you up at 4:45. While riding I to...

Cycle trip to Sinhagad Fort

Image
Today I have had a cycle trip to one of Pune’s attraction, Sinhagad Fort.   It was my third such trip since living in the historic city. The trip was around 70 Km cycling which also includes 12 km of walking and dragging your cycle through the steep Mountains. We actually started 50 minutes late than the preplanned 7:20AM. I woke up late. Badri was the co traveller; he woke me up at 7:30AM. I chose to wear half cargo & a half T shirt & of course the shoes. I also carried one extra T shirt. Sunlight was blissful at the starting & weather was cold when I left home in the morning from Salunke Vihar, Pune. We chose to travel through our common meeting point Fatima Nagar. We got tyre pressure tested and kicked through Swargate to Sarasbagh nearing to Khadakwasla dam. It should be 9:30 AM till then. Sun was going to start hitting. Since it was Sunday, traffic will be bringing up in the scenic Khadakwasla dam & to the Fort at the top of mountain. We decided to move t...
