A question

Torture in every form is cruelty. Why do we have to reciprocate back in violence? Revenge is a labyrinth which only leads to more hatred and chaos. The action of a person speaks of himself even if it is performed in the expected reciprocation. When it comes to the bottom where you are standing, no one prefers to stay ideal and at that moment everyone forgets to stay calm but the concept of human is communicated as an excuse, “after all we are not God!” Somehow, somewhere the images of God in Hinduism are used to inspire us to be an ideal human being and by doing that, it is proclaimed that we move closer the one we follow. And it is logical as well. But the amount of your strength depends on your confidence and faith in him. That is how you will not only copy his actions but also his thoughts on which your future undocumented actions are based. For Atheist, it could be their mentors. For everyone there is someone whom we get motivated from, we call them mentors and the concept of this in the earlier culture lies in the following of a Guru, the one who shows you the true path for your own good. It can be indirect, for example in the Mahabharata story; Eklavya motivated himself only by the image of Dronacharya. Nowadays we don’t find a true Guru where we completely rely on ourselves. Hence, should Hindu change their way of living their life or maybe discover a new way? Will we be able to carry forward with the same element of purity where thoughts as well have equal status than the concept?

If peace is the only sustainable way to last longer in life and for the age of the human society to remain productive, healthy and benevolent, should we stop suppressing the living beings standing below on our ladder? This is the thought where the question of sustainability again arises, not just for human but for every living being on earth. Torture and consume a fish than killing a fish instantly and then consuming in the neatest way, there is a big difference. We need to put ourselves in other shoes.

It has always been the age of genocide, i.e. at every moment, there is the number of places where life is upside down. Do you think deforestation comes under the category of genocide? It has been happening in the fastest away at present. It is the age of industrialization. Now concepts like vertical farming are expanding its base. People’s home from a distance looks like piles of square cubes… are we really moving forward? Imagine the feeling when every day so many people are disheartened with the experience of a polluted beach. Everyone has equal rights in nature, or is nature really a commodity or a ‘thing’ to have a ‘right’? As far as I see, some elements in the society are polluting the environment and I could only smell capitalists and their victims.

We pretend to keep close our eyes on the poverty in India. Who in the street is not struggling? We need to know that we are ranked 100th amongst the 119 developing countries and countries like North Korea where we may not choose to live are ahead of us. Is this some kind of hypocrisy? We have nearly 22% of Indian population below poverty line, which also stands nearly 21% of the world’s, considering that off record we may be the most populous country in the world. Every 5.7th person in the world is Indian!

Time is to introspect, are we twisting the messages of our religion, which is meant for brotherhood and non-violence, to something in selfish interests. It has always happened in the times. Untouchability, racism or any other form of negative biasedness is a symbol of existing suppression in the society; we must not forget… आजादी क्या है?
