Losing humanity

Earth lets to dwell variety of animals in her house installing the software of "Mother Nature". Through the Mother Nature we are all linked and dependent for all our activities. In passing ages, we animals of different varieties have prospered, adapted and became what we are today. Many of the species has extinct and many new have been generated. The animal variety, "Human" is supposed to be the most intelligent species living in Earth. This is the main difference that humans possess which has levied him from other varieties of animals in earth. Humans have developed, civilized, explored and learned from the Mother Nature and ever endeavored to comfort his life. Humans have also learned to act superior and become the master of other living species in earth. Humans are thus prospering. Thus ONLY humans are prospering.

Humans possess emotions of love, hatred, compassion etc. at different point of time in his life. He feels pain, anger, jealously, contempt, love, sympathy and all. So does many other living species. And we humans know it. We know it very well. Isn‟t it?

We humans have developed. And we are still developing in to something fine, modern species. But the meaning of the word “Modern” is vaguely interpreted. Does “modern” means a person who is technically efficient, lives comfortably standing over other‟s comfort, selfish beyond limits, devoid of the emotions, feelings and pain of other‟s species? And the question that ticks hard is "were we alone in the effort achieving all the development we have?" What about the cattle, horses, buffaloes, cows, dogs, donkeys, camels etc. we have been using for ages in farming, security and many other endeavors? 6-10% population of the world is non-vegetarians! Imagine the dependency of humans on the other species of animals. For decades we have been inhumanely experimenting and killing species like rats, cats, dogs, rabbits, monkeys, fish, pigs and birds in the laboratories for biology lessons, medical training, chemical, drug, cosmetic and food testing. And what have we given them in return? How could we become so ungrateful, selfish and inhuman? And what have we given these helpless and suppressed? Nothing but pain and sufferings!
It is okay that some species are the part of human‟s diet. But isn‟t it our responsibility to provide a basic facilities to them until they are alive?

One must realize that we are all interconnected and interdependent for our future and our development. Thus the question framed, "where is love and compassion?"
