Bird species extinction- Ignoring reality?
How clearly I remember the waking up with the soft cooing of so many cute little birds back in childhood days on any typical morning. It was bliss to have experienced those moments of pure nature. Not only their calm giving voices but seeing them used to make me feel heavenly. I used to wonder how a soul is staying inside such a small bird. Many a times I have tried to get close to them to familiarize with them but long before they used to flee. No matter what, it was a great experience.
I wonder where all of them are. Has any bad gang or group started to abduct them? Then I guess we must fight them. But wait. They are getting extinct in heavy numbers. I almost see none on a general day and when I do see them on a rare fortunate day; it is one or two in number. Are we the reason behind their disappearance? I guess yes. Yes. How shameless we have become to not even making it a subject of discussion. Damn, we haven’t yet even realized it fully. Where are all of us getting so busy at? Or we don’t want these beautiful creatures to be a part of our life? If it is so, why do so many people in increasing number making a regular search on the internet, on Youtube uploading and sharing a rare recorded video of having watched a bird. Is the situation so terrible? And if we are so desperate, why on media there are no headlines and breaking news about it? What I just observe across the media channels and newspapers is politicians, politicians-cricketer, cricketers-filmmakers, filmmakers and blah! We, intelligent beings have a poor habit of regretting after committing mistakes. How busy we have become in building big malls, tall apartments and uprooting forests that we cheated on our companions in leaving them behind & the basic idea of restoring Mother Nature stands nowhere in our plans. We selfishly ignored our environment.
I must say, “Wake up!” “Wake up before it’s too late”. Because we need them, we need them to color our imagination and our life, not digitally but naturally! Graphic designing and digital interfaces would create many dynamic applications for our mobile operating system. But our thirst is not the one that will be satisfied digitally, but seeing these lovely creatures in real, flying, cooing and sitting around.
Okay, let me ask this, "When was the last time you noticed a sparrow in your window?”
