Agar's birthday & those pimples!

It's his birthday tomorrow. Agar is studying in 8th standard in the school. He is going to be 14 years old. He has lived a 14 years life! He is excited about it. It would be the day that he really awaits for the whole year. This day, he would be treated special. He would get attention from the people and they would come to him to wish the birthday. His birthday would be celebrated in the evening. He would invite friends in his home. They would bring some gifts wrapped in the colorful packets & Agar could not wait enough to open them up! He would cut a cake while everyone would sing & clap standing around him. His mother would cook something tasty!

This year Agar is also observing a change in his physiology. He is probably becoming a man and this is reflected from his face. He is having pimples! His cheek is full of them. He does not know much about it but these reddish marks have enveloped his soft cheeks. He is worried about it. On his birthday, he wanted to look the most handsome. He wants that people like him naturally. These pimples are making him feel disgusted about himself.

Agar complains about them to his father. A week ago, his father has brought him a lotion that he must apply over them. It seems as if it didn't work at all! He would search for organic remedies. He would ask elders how they got rid of them in their times... Some says that he has an oily skin. Other ask to apply Aloe Vera. Some asked him to drink more water! He thinks about his face. He stands before the mirror several times in a day and see if they have reduced in size. He is always aware of them. He thinks how would people feel about his reddened face. He tries to apply powder over his face. While talking, he tends to cover his face with his hands. Often people would ask him, why is that he is having these red marks over his face! That only increases his self-pity.

But this is just one side of his early maturity. The other side is that he seems to be growing facial hairs. He has always wanted a moustache and a beard over his face. He has always felt cool about it. Many a times, he would use his father's razor over his face, just in case the hair grows up!

Agar calls his father to remind him to bring the chocolates, so that he could distribute them to his friends & the teachers in the school next day. As the clock ticks forward, his vein are already tight. He is happy but he is also sad. Happy that it's going to be his birthday. Sad because he is going to share it with another friend. Yeah, another guy in the school also has the birthday same day! Obviously, he won't be the lone king. As the eve departs and the 12th hour seems to start, to his surprise, the world has not yet broken into wilderness. How is that everything is as usual & stagnated like the water in a pond? While everyone is fast asleep, Agar's eye is at the clock. He knew that in no time, it's going to be his birth date! And yes, 3! 2! 1! Yayy!, he is already 14! His mother is up, his father is sleepy. They have come to hug him and wish him his birthday! The birthday has officially started.

Agar could not contain his breath. This special day is a gift to him. God knows how he will be able to sleep today. He woke up early morning. Everyone in the family met him and wished him. Some of them hugged him & cheered him for the day! He stands by the balcony and looks at the street below. He feels the owner of the world today. People are passing by happily. It's a bit cold. The sky is still not so bright. The birds seems to be singing to him. Ahh! What a day! He has to be ready for the school. His mother has cooked him a sweet dish. He will be taking Aloo Parathas in the tiffin box. Agar went to the bathroom and remained for extra minutes washing his body. He double-soaped himself and washed his face well. Look at those pimples yo, bringing sad chills!

Agar dressed up for the school. He is wearing freshly washed school uniform. His shoes, although 2 years old, but are shining better than yesterday! He has not applied hair oil today. His bag has been packed with chocolates... In a while, his school bus would arrive & the wishes would pour down like sweet rain :)
