To say that there is a rise in the fundamentalism amongst the people, I may stand completely wrong. To deny that there is a projection of increased fundamentalism through the social media and mass communication platform would be a blunder. It may be a bigger blunder to deny its effect on the people at large. Fundamentalism is the staunch support to a particular ideology or a group affiliated to a particular way of life or any thought process or just being part of the group by virtue of his/her birth. While we are at liberty to have a subjective interpretation of the kind of life that we foresee for ourselves and abide by it, it is okay to remain cling to it as long as it makes sense and we are not harming anyone including ourselves; fundamentalism emerges when it surpasses this limit. Due to the spread of the COVID 19 virus and its threat on account of it being contagious, a number of countries have opted for the measure of strict social distancing, which means avoiding human to human interaction as much as possible. 27 Mar 20 The news agencies and the social media contents are full with the virus outbreak – the COVID19. The cities and towns are being locked down. One by one the countries are slowly wakening from the denial mode to actions. China, after almost a period of three months, has been reported to putting a halt to the spread of the deadly virus.  It showed its metal in taking strong decisions and the capability of the healthcare system in place. The country in focus is Italy which sadly reported a high fatality and stands at the farthest end of having lost several lives.
