Funda-mental-ism
To say that there is a rise in the fundamentalism amongst the people, I may stand completely wrong. To deny that there is a projection of increased fundamentalism through the social media and mass communication platform would be a blunder. It may be a bigger blunder to deny its effect on the people at large. Fundamentalism is the staunch support to a particular ideology or a group affiliated to a particular way of life or any thought process or just being part of the group by virtue of his/her birth. While we are at liberty to have a subjective interpretation of the kind of life that we foresee for ourselves and abide by it, it is okay to remain cling to it as long as it makes sense and we are not harming anyone including ourselves; fundamentalism emerges when it surpasses this limit. Certain dialogues attributed to it can be, ‘women are not allowed to work at par with men’, ‘caste X people are dirty’, ‘I hate religion Y’, ‘capitalism is totally anti-poor’ and so on.
